Five Little Field Mice Launch Party

Saturday June 30th 2012

 Cue trumpet fanfare!

We’re delighted to announce the arrival of our latest CD, Five Little Field Mice, and we will be celebrating with a little party for all our Playsongs families and friends on Saturday 30th June.

So here’s the plan…..

We have booked the Methodist Church Hall in Swanage from 12 noon.

The plan is to do some singing together in the hall, followed by lunch. Please bring a picnic. We’ll provide teas, coffee and cake. And of course the new CD – Five Little Field Mice -  will be available for you to buy! We hope you will want to take lots of little mice home with you – otherwise Gill’s flat will be overrun with them!

Then we thought we’d all decamp to the beach for the rest of the afternoon, so please bring beach games, your swimming things etc. The quay is a great place for crabbing – there are always lots of children with crabbing lines and buckets full of little crabs!

We have the hall for back up if the weather’s not good, (surely this wet weather can’t go on for ever?!) and there’s lots to do and see around Swanage. The Chococo shop is definitely worth a visit. Check out their website for wonderful chocolately things! http://www.chococo.co.uk/index.php  They are tucked away in a side street and easy to miss, but they’re one of the delights of Dorset, and if you’ve never been there we’d be more than happy to introduce you….. !

There are beautiful coastal walks through Durlston Country Park. If you’re very lucky you might even see a dolphin. http://www.durlston.co.uk

And if its a lovely evening and you’d like to stay on for fish and chips, we also have a favourite fish and chip shop in Swanage…. ( Incidentally, Chococo do chocolate fish, chips and peas in a little tray – amazing!)

If you want to make the day extra special, you could of course come on the puffa train! Train times can be found at http://www.swanagerailway.co.uk/n-timetable.htm

If you come by car, the Methodist Church advice is to park in Queens Road up near the hospital and to walk down to the hall via the footpath beside the church. There are good maps on the church website http://www.swanagemethodist.org.uk/findus.htm  If you follow the link and click on the postcode, an even better map appears. The church is in Jubilee Square, High Street, BH19 2LZ. There are of course lots of car parks in Swanage, but you should expect to pay about £8 for the day.

As usual with our extra Playsongs events there will be a charge of £5 per family. It would help us enormously if you would RSVP – we’d hate to run out of cake!! We’re also planning on inviting a few little mice of the chocolate variety for the children….. so numbers would be useful.

We look forward to seeing you. Time to start singing Mr Sun…….
