Things We Like

We all loved Jonathan’s amazing prize-winning pumpkin which he brought in to show everyone (staggering under the weight!) We put it in the middle of the circle while we were singing, and it was wonderful to see how much all the children were drawn to it, wanting to touch it and to sit close by. There’s something so appealing about the colour and the shape of a pumpkin, isn’t there? Well done Jonathan!

Pumpkin, pumpkin on the ground,
How did you get so big and round?
Once you were a seed so small,
Now you are a great big ball!
Pumpkin, pumpkin on the ground,
How did you get so BIG and round?

Those of you who come to our classes will know that Gill spends all the winter longing for snow, and getting terribly excited at every weather report that suggests we might be in for a flurry! Usually she’s deeply disappointed as even when snow is forecast for the rest of Dorset, it seems to by-pass Blandford Forum.

So you can imagine the excitement when early in February we woke up to a glistening white, magical world! No-one made it to our first class that morning, so we did what the whole of Blandford seemed to be doing and went out to play…

Nickie decided that the Playsongs toys simply had to come with us (Peter Penguin was desperate for a little waddle arouind in the snow!). So we wrapped them up warmly and …. Well, you can see for yourself!
